Recent Empties 2014/2015

Hi there, just want to drop by to share some thoughts on products that I had finished up recently.
It will go according to best product bought to products that I regret buying =)

1. YSL Light Creator Serum Skintone corrector S$189 for 50 ml -  Money well spent ! Although this is an expensive serum for me and without looking at any review on this , I took the plunge and brought this baby home. As recommended by the BA, this will make my morning routine a fuss free one! After washing my face, applied this serum, waited for it to dry and I can apply my makeup right away! This is so true! This really shortened my preparation time and I have more time to put more my makeup! After using for awhile, my skin do appear fairer and more radiant! Highly recommended!

2. Benefit The PoreFessional - I bought the sample size ( 7.5ml for about S$10++) of this to try since this has been highly raved about for so long. And indeed, this is amazing! Actually, this can replace my beloved The Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer because it is much more cheaper and much more easily available in Singapore!

3. SK-II Stempower -  Bought this from Duty Free shop in the airport (50g for about S$100). Great as a night cream for dehydrated skin. Tend to feel abit greasy but it will be absorbed into the skin after 15-30 mins depending how much you put on. Do not expect 'miracle' result but skin will not feel so dehydrated the next day.

4. Glamglow supermud clearing treatment - sample size - Good Product! Skin feel more cleaner and make up apply much more easier! Recommended.

5. SKINC Skin Supplement Bar Pure Snow White Mask - (totally forgotten how much i paid for this but according to Luxola website, 50ml = S$178). Yes, it does make my skin look fairer immediately after use but the result does not really last. So this is the kind of mask you use before an event. Nothing wow about it.

6. Eve Lom Rescue Mask - S$75 for 50ml. Love the smell of this ( eucalyptus-ish), deep cleansing - result so so.

7. Dior Capture Totale Dream Skin Global Age-Defying Skincare Perfect Skin Creator - S$150 for 30ml. I went to Dior counter to look at highlighter but was convinced by the BA that this product was super good till it was always sold out. Turn out?? Waste of my S$150. Did nothing to minimise my pores and it is suppose to work like primer as well but not at all! Totally rubbish product.

Good Day!

Eve Lom vs Emma Hardie Balm Cleansers

My very first balm cleanser was Eve Lom, took the plunge and paid S$90 for 50 ml from Tangs.*heartache*

But it is definitely worth the money spent!

Background of my skin: oily before mid day (with or without makeup) and with large pores. Pigmentation from pimples and redness.

I only use the balm cleanser at night to clean my face with makeup on, after 2-3 times of usage....OMG....I can feel my skin is feeling so smooth!! I NEVER had this feeling before. My skin look so hydrated and the next morning....my makeup feel so much easier to apply!! I use it with the muslin cloth that come with the packaging. Before I hit the bottom of the 50ml tub, my muslin cloth look kinda of gross  - dirty look with stain of foundation =P I think for hygiene purpose, it is better to use 2 muslin cloth for a tub of cleanser. I read in many blogs whereby most bloggers mentioned that EL contained mineral oils which is a no-no for our skin but after I finished whole tub....no breakouts on my sensitive skin *phew*

After my finished my tub of Eve Lom, I decided to try Emma Hardie since this is highly raved about in YT-land and there is free shipping from www.feelunique.com and it is much cheaper as compared to Eve Lom.
I paid P35 (about S$75) for 100ml. But I got to buy the muslin cloth separately from ebay as the packaging does not come with one. The EH muslin cloth is definitely of better quality than EL's. Paid for about S$10 for a piece including shipping.

Comparing both, I prefer Eve Lom better as I can really feel my skin is much better, moreee smoother. When I am using EH, I still feel that my skin is little rough at times, so the result is not that consistent as compare to EL. But after I switch to these 2 balm cleanser, my skin overall feel much better and even my friend comment that my makeup look better and pores is less obvious (cause skin is more hydrated therefore less visible).

I am definitely a convert =P

Laneige Water Sleeping Pack _ EX

Finally finished this tub of sleeping mask.

Sleeping mask is typically very suitable for lazy person like MOI as you just put it on and sleep in it. This is quite a popular mask in Singapore, selling at S$50++ in department store but I got my friend to buy it from Korea - S$25. This is almost half or even more cheaper in Korea than in Singapore!

Verdict: If you are buying from department store, don't waste your money!
Recently, I read that Dr GL Restore Gel Mask can be used as a sleeping mask as well and did that for weeks and the result is far far better than Laneige. I can really see the difference between the 2 masks. Restore Gel Mask is selling for S$68, comparing the price, put that budget into Restore Gel Mask. If you are able to get Laneige at Korea price (S$25) and do not have the budget for Dr GL, then maybe you can consider that.

Kinda of disappointed in Laneige Sleeping Mask =(

Collection - concealer!

Found this at Toa Payoh Central Watsons! The concealer is very much raved about and its about S$14-S$16. I bought the shade Light - 2 and used it yesterday. SO FAR SO GOOD! No cracking lines under the eyes! FYI: MADE IN CHINA!!!!! - at your own risk heh heh heh

Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water and Loose Powder

Ho Ho Ho....finally finished up my cleansing water from Koh Gen Do (KGD). The counter is located at 3rd level of Takashimaya Shopping Centre which is rather surprising as all the other cosmetic brands are located at level 1. Bought the small bottle at S$15 - 100ml for my first trial.

Hmmm.....I feel that it is almost the same as Bioderma but KGD removes waterproof mascara much better and easier as compared to Bioderma. And I used this as a makeup remover not to replace my cleanser FYI.

Overall view is, this is way more costly than Bioderma and it doesn't really make much difference - in my opinion. As for the mascara removing "speed", I think the price of Bioderma can make up for it =)

KGD is available in 2 sizes:

100ml = S$15
300ml = S50

Doesn't really make sense to me....if I get 3 small bottles, I will get the 300ml of products but 5 bucks cheaper????!!!

The 10g of KGD loose powder cost about S$54 and it does come with the puff. The puff can be bought separately at S$25 (kinda of exp). Although the shade is named Light Beige, I think it is translucent. And it comes with SPF-which is a plus point to me =)

The powder is very finely milled and I like the finishes as compared to my Bobbi Brown ( Sheer Finished Loose Powder in Soft Sand 5 and I can't recall the price tag and it does not come with a puff).

I feel that the KGD powder sort of brighten up my look after I applied it on top of my liquid foundation. I do not use the puff that comes with it but use my powder brush instead. With a S$54 price tag that comes with a big puff and 10g of product, I think it is worth trying! =)

Hakuhodo brushes

In the picture are (left to right) Kokutan angled brush (S$98), Basic Tapered brush ( S$69 - I think), Basic angled finishing brush ( S$75 - I think)

We were so lucky to have a Hakuhodo temp set up corner in Aug/ Sep 13 at Takashimaya! And I was also very lucky to get this piece of news from local bloggers through their blog and instagram! Since my office is so near town, I made a trip down during lunch time to try the texture of these highly raved about brushes!

Well, as it was the 3rd or 4th day later.....the popular pieces were all gone.....but I knew I wanted to get an angled brush....In the end, I got 3! Pocket bleeding again =(

OMG!!! The brushes are so so so so soft especially the Kokutan series!!! I couldn't help it by picking 2 angled brushes heh heh heh...

From the website:

Kokutan finishing brush - http://www.hakuhodousa.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=24

Hair type is a combi of both goat (Sokoho) and Synthetic finish. This is the ultra soft among the 3 and it is so gentle on the skin...feel very luxurious. I have used it for applying bronzers and finishing powder, I loved it! But I will try to use it for highlighting along my high cheek bone soon.

Basic Tapered brush

This is a good brush for applying loose powder after your foundation, in my opinion. Especially with the pointed end, it is very easy to apply the powder under the eye area and around the nose as well. Among the 3, this is the most used brush and it tend to shed alittle bit, just one or two strand of hairs. And of course, it's soft!

Basic angled finishing brush

This is slightly denser than the Kokutan finishing brush and I used it for applying blusher. This is the least used among the three and I will be switching it up to apply bronzers soon. Again, soft soft soft!

But after several uses, these brushes tend to have a smell when I used them and the Japanese promoter told me to wash them every THREE months! I was shocked when I hear this! She advised to clean the brushes on a tissue after every use and it should last for 3 months. I thought we need to thoroughly clean our brushes every week???? And after each wash, need to air it upside down for 5 days before using them again. Hmmm....although I'm shocked but at the same time grinning that these brushes need not to be washed weekly (lazy nature), but I don't think I will wait for 3 months, most probably I will wash them 1 month later and in between use, I will spritz some make up forever brush cleanser for some spot cleaning before using to prevent breakout =)

Comparing the prices selling online and what is selling in Singapore, I think its cheaper to get them locally. I hope that they do come back often!!

Get yours if you have the chance.

Have a great weekend!
